Golden Peacock Villa Hotel integral to Manicaland’s tourism infrastructure

MUTARE – Nestling in a sprawling 7,438-square metre security-walled expanse garden Golden Peacock Villa Hotel has since its establishment in 2012 been more than an integral accommodation infrastructure of Manicaland’s tourism industry.

It has been pulling crowds to itself as an addition to the picturesque eastern border city’s unending visual attractions.

Lying three kilometres away from the city centre the three-star luxury – the city’s sole villa hotel offers its guests both privacy and a tranquil environment.

With 83 all en-suite rooms which include 55 standard rooms, 17 deluxe quarters, and eight junior and three senior executive suites the hotel can accommodate 135 guests.

They are well serviced with state-of-the-art air conditioners, Wi-Fi, high definition LCD televisions sets, a modest bouquet of DStv channels, tea and coffee making facilities and mini bars.

A stay at the hotel also offers visitors with a wide range of cuisines from oriental, western and African dishes. Although Golden Peacock Villa Hotel is an international brand with its roots in Asia complete with some Chinese chefs it also serves an a la carte cuisine of Zimbabwean traditional dishes.

While it is an ideal business hotel its three dining halls can also afford couples and families their dining privacy. The main restaurant accommodating 120 diners the three other private dining rooms – the Golden Peacock Hall accommodates 20 people, the Great Hall and the Huangshan Mount Hall accommodate 10 people each.

But even more critically the hotel was built to exploit the emerging phenomenon of Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Events/or Exhibitions (MICE), or, simply put, business tourism as it has an up-to-the-minute conference centre.

The biggest conference room can carry up to 400 delegates, another 180 among many smaller halls and break-away rooms.

It has been a rendezvous of choice for many local, national and international meetings and has not disappointed with its powerful Wi-Fi coverage to lubricate any internet needs or for the business meetings.

To wind-off any serious business engagements it has an onsite night club – Glow Bar. This is also meant to accommodate any outgoing guests or host parties for conferencing groups. Strategically located in a separate building complex to accommodation halls which maintain their quiet and serene ambiance as well as privacy.
